These photos in particular show a scene when Nathan appears from behind some bushes weilding an axe, this scene in my trailer is hwon in slow motion.

New SlashTag logo

I have decided to change my SlashTag logo as I was not happy with my old one, this one is a lot simpler and is much like a an actual film logo, as most films don't really feature a logo they just have the title of the film in a unique and recognizable font that is related to the production, this is what I have tried to do, the '#' featured in the title represents the social media aspect of the film, but is also in a jagged, slashed style, this represents the slasher aspect of the film

Examples of horror film posters

These are some examples of horror film posters, as you can see the main convention is the image, all of these images on the posters mainly feature just the face. When creating my poster I will be using this, only featuring the face of the protagonist of the film 'Nathan'. I have chosen to do this because it allows the audience to see clearly the main character and focus of the film, it also shows the character in a invading and intimidating way as they appear very close to the viewer which some viewers may find scary

Slash Tag certificate

I have decided that my film should be rated 18 due to the strong violence including blood and gore and also due to the realism of the film that could scare younger viewers
No theme is prohibited at 18. Adults are free to choose their own entertainment provided the material is not illegal or potentially harmful, so it is possible some themes tackled at 18 may be offensive even to some adult viewers

What you would expect to find in an 18?

18 works are for adults and can contain strong issues such as:
  1.  Strong portrayals of sexual activity
  2.  Scenes of sexual violence
  3.  Frequent strong/very strong language
  4.  Strong horror
  5.  Strong blood and gore
  6.  Real sex blood and gore
  7.  Discriminatory language and behaviour

Updated actors agreement and contract

This is the contract I have got everyone involved in my production to sign, I have done this so that the crew and actors understand what they are involved in and are agreeing to participate in any way they can and anytime they can to try and help me with my production. I feel that creating one of these not only puts it simply what I need the crew and actors to agree with but also makes the whole production process a lot more professional and by doing this it has helped make the whole process a lot more serious resulting in a high quality performance from everyone involved

Hand drawn first draft of front cover

Here is a front cover idea that i drew myself, I have been using this as a basis to design my front cover that will be used as my final ancillary piece, this was done before I started my front covers so it was the initial and original idea that I have tried to stick to, but have changed at times to what I have thought is more appropriate to my magazine, my final magazine has been made on fireworks so certain conventions I have designed here have had to be changed to better fit my magazine.

The music in my trailer

I have almost completed my trailer and now have now chosen the right music to suit it

The first half of my trailer features a dark, slightly disturbing song which creates an eerie atmosphere, this is played over the establishing scenes in the school when Nathan is getting beaten up and is also played when the voice over is played, it helps create the feeling that this is a horror by giving my trailer and the story it tells a darker and more sinister picture. It also makes the viewer feel slightly uncomfortable

This is the song:

The second half of my trailer features a louder, more provocative song, this part of the trailer still features Nathan getting bullied but mainly shows Nathan turning into the villain of the film, this song could be seen as quite a threatening song which ties in well with how I want Nathan to be viewed by my target audience

This is the song:

Front cover draft ideas

These are some of my drafts for my front cover, they are not completed as i started both and was not happy with them, I have now changed my idea completely as I am using similar layouts but with different colours as well as having a clearer front cover with more background space to add more features to the magazine like pugs and coverlines, I have also used a similar technique with the blood but it is now splattered around the page, this will let the viewer know straight away that Slashtag is a slasher horror as the element of blood on a film magazine will automatically make almost anyone think this

Sl#tag first draft

This is my first draft, it is a very rough outline of what my final trailer should look like, I will be making adjustments to certain parts of my trailer; editing future and existing shots to better suit the trailer and also to flow better within the trailer. I will be adding a voice over that I plan to go near the beginning and end of the trailer and I will also be adding music to my trailer, the music I would like to plan to the trailer will be a slow, dark song at the begging and as the trailer progresses I will be adding another song with a faster tempo, however the song will still be pacey and add an element of uncertainty to my trailer. Overall I happy with how my trailer is coming along and look forward to its completion.

Voiceovers for my trailer

This is the voice over that I will have in my trailer, I feel having a voice over will add more of an eerie effect to my trailer, it will make the audience feel like the character is speaking to them and much of the audience may also be able to relate to the character as he is being bullied at school (hopefully they wont be able to relate to his killing spree though).

The voice over:

This part will feature at the beginning of my trailer when Nathan is first shown

"Hi I'm Nathan, ever since I started this school I've been victimized and terrorized, they've made me feel worthless... and now it's time for change"

The next voice over features at the end of the trailer when it is almost over

"I'm not putting up with this anymore... I'm coming for you"

Slashtag noun slide

This will be shown after my appropriate audience slide, it is the meaning of the word Slashtag, as well as showing the audience the meaning of our film title, it is also quite unique as it is never usually seen in films. I have taken inspiration for this from the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction

Intertitles

These are the intertitles that I will be using in my trailer. They help relay the story onto the viewer by clearly indicating that the character they are watching on screen has been pushed to the point where he is now insane and has decided to murder his enemies, as well as this I am also using these as it makes my trailer look more professional and keeps the viewer interested as these will be shown between shots within my trailer at different points
